Lib Dem Assembly candidates, Ed Bridges and John Dixon, believe Labour have let down our Post Office network.

Local residents in Cardiff have reacted with horror at news that Labour want to close another 2,500 Post Offices across the UK.

Cardiff North's Welsh Assembly candidate, Ed Bridges, told Focus: "Local Post Offices are one of the few vital lifelines left for many communities. Sadly, Labour seem hell-bent on the destruction of our vital Post Office Network."

"Labour have stopped all Post Offices from selling TV licences and paying out pensions - and prevented many from issuing Car Tax and Passport Forms. That places this important service in danger of extinction."

Local activist, John Dixon, added: "When they were in power, the Conservatives closed 3,500 Post Offices. To date, Labour have closed over 4,000. Those are shocking figures.

"The Liberal Democrats have long been campaigning for the protection of local Post Offices. We know the value of the Post Office network and have pledged to invest £2 billion in branches to breathe new life into the service."
