Cllr. Cathy Pearcy has welcomed news that Cardiff Council will be re-seeding the grass area at Parkfield Place.

Gabalfa's Liberal Democrat councillors have secured an agreement from Cardiff Council's Parks Department to re-seed the grass area in the middle of Parkfield Place in the autumn.

The grass had grown back after the regeneration scheme to improve the area was completed earlier this year. However, problems with the topsoil meant that the grass died over the course of the summer.

As a result of requests from councillors Cathy Pearcy and Ed Bridges, Cardiff Council's Parks Department have killed off the weeds in the area and have agreed to re-seed the grass in October.

Cllr. Cathy Pearcy told us: "After all the work which was done to improve the area with the regeneration scheme, it would have been a shame if the grass did not grow back too. We are pleased that the Parks Department have agreed with us that this work should be carried out."

The Parkfield Place regeneration scheme, completed in the Spring, saw access improved to the even-numbered properties, new lighting added and trees planted in the grass area.
