Hendre Lake fly-tipping: Local Lib Dem councillor Geraldine Grant has asked the council to remove old sofas and other dumped rubbish from around Hendre Lake.

Local Lib Dem councillor Geraldine Grant has called for tougher action against fly-tipping at Hendre Lake.

Hendre Lake and the surrounding park is a lovely open space, which families from across Trowbridge and St Mellons use and walk around.

However, a small number of individuals are wrecking the park for everyone else by repeatedly dumping household waste as well as general litter.

Local campaigner Cllr. Geraldine Grant said, "The police can only catch the fly-tippers and the council remove the rubbish, if residents report the dumping.

"If you see anyone fly-tipping, please ring 101 or ring me and I'll report it. This is a real priority for our local police as well as myself. In fact when I discovered the dumped rubbish pictured, I saw two Police Community Support Officers patrolling the park looking for fly-tipping."
