The Gabalfa Lib Dem Focus Team are working to address problem parking around the North Star pub.

Gabalfa's Lib Dem councillors are working with our local Police team to address residents' concerns about parking issues around the North Star pub.

Over recent months, there have been a large number of complaints about contractors' vehicles being parked on the pavement by the North Star, and of pavements on Flint Street also being blocked by vehicles and skips.

The issues was made a priority for the area at a recent PACT (Police & Communities Together) meeting, and enforcement action is now being taken by the local Police team.

Lib Dem councillor for the area, Cathy Pearcy, said: "It isn't acceptable for vehicles to block the pavement at this location. With Cathays High School so close, it's obviously a concern that pupils are being forced to walk in a busy road to get round vehicles on the pavement."

Cllr. Ed Bridges added: "The Police have indicated that they will be visiting the area regularly to give parking tickets to vehicles blocking the pavement. We welcome that, and hope it will rectify the problem."
